It’s a wrap!
Well the OWPS Community Festival is finished for 2018! Thank you to all in the community who joined us for another great weekend and thanks to the rain gods for holding off until Sunday night!
It certainly looked like everyone was enjoying themselves and we’ve again raised a lot for the school. We’ll update with final numbers once we have them.
Thanks from all of us!
A special thanks to all the OWPS families, teachers and staff who volunteered, the local businesses who contributed to our raffle, silent auction, outdoor entertainment and market stalls and of course to our Sponsors. Many support us year after year and we are all so grateful for your contributions. The benefits to our school are there for all to see in the facilities we’ve been able to fund. Make sure you connect with us on Facebook to keep updated.
We look forward to seeing you again next year. In the meantime please enjoy some highlights from this year’s festivities.
FUNDS RAISED IN 2017…
Last year’s event raised over $43,000 for our school, continuing the significant contribution this Festival makes to helping our kids. 2017 had a special focus on directly supporting our teachers in the classroom. Teachers’ Classroom Hampers were filled from the teachers’ wishlists and included board games, dice, art supplies, books, stationery and more.
In addition, the P&C have worked closely with the school and parents to identify the highest need for funding. So far we’ve helped with providing cover for the ramp access to the hall and providing more power to outdoor areas. Previous events have funded:
- Air-conditioners in classrooms
- Learning Support Teacher (additional hours)
- Library equipment
- Interactive whiteboards in all classrooms
- Wifi technology
- A new projector for the hall
- New appliances for the canteen
- Outdoor roofing structure (COLA)
- Sporting equipment
