Oatley West Community Festival

23-25 August 2019

Our Festival

Another successful festival!

Thanks to everyone in our school and broader community for volunteering, attending and shopping at this year’s Community Festival. As well as being an awesome weekend of fund, each year the festival is the biggest fundraiser for Oatley West PS and 2018 was no exception!

{Drum roll please…} This year we raised almost $42,000!

Each year these funds are put directly back into the school and our kids. Funds raised in 2018 will go towards a range of areas. So far this includes sponsoring the Learning and Support Teacher and the Wellbeing Officer for 2019. In 2019 we look forward to supporting other exciting initiatives.

Save the date

Mark your diaries – this year’s OWPS Community Festival will be held from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 August. If you’re interested in volunteering or partnering with us please email owpscommunityfestival {a} gmail.com. You can check out all the fun from 2018 in the video below.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Thanks from all of us!

A special thanks to all the OWPS families, teachers and staff who volunteered, the local businesses who contributed to our raffle, silent auction, outdoor entertainment and market stalls and of course to our Sponsors. Many support us year after year and we are all so grateful for your contributions. The benefits to our school are there for all to see in the facilities we’ve been able to fund. Make sure you connect with us on Facebook to keep updated.

We look forward to seeing you again next year. In the meantime please enjoy some highlights from this year’s festivities. 2_web_sponsors2018

How we’ve spent the funds raised in previous years…

Each year the OWPS Community Festival (previously known as the OWPS Art & Craft Fair) raises significant funds which go straight back into the school, helping our kids. P&C work closely with the school and parents to identify the highest need for funding. Some of the projects covered so far include:

  • Air-conditioners in classrooms
  • Providing cover for ramp access to the hall
  • Additional power to outdoor areas, extending flexible learning options
  • Learning Support Teacher (additional hours)
  • Teachers’ classroom hampers
  • Library equipment
  • Interactive whiteboards in all classrooms
  • Wifi technology
  • A new projector for the hall
  • New appliances for the canteen
  • Outdoor roofing structure (COLA)
  • Sporting equipment
