It is just 2 weeks until the opening night of the Community Festival and we cannot be more excited – so here’s everything you need to know about the festival and how to get involved!!
For those who are new to the school or if you need a quick reminder, here’s a rundown of a few things that will be happening: Rides, 40+ Market Stalls including 10 food stalls, Live Stage of local community performances including school groups, Pony Rides, Outdoor Games (including a bicep challenge), 9 Sponsors, Art Hall, Plant Pop Up (brand new this year- get a bargain), Plaster Funhouse, Sugar Rush, Bubble Tea, BBQ, Beer Garden (next to BBQ), Wine Bar (in Art Hall), Trash & Treasure, Cake Stall, Live Music, Dunking Machine, Fairy Floss, Hair Braiding, Balloons, Raffle, Silent Auction, friends, family, community, and most of all fun.
So what do you do now:
- Put it in your diary: – the festival starts with Opening Night on the 25th of August and runs through to Sunday 27th – so now is the time to put it in the diary – work out when you are going to come along and make sure to let friends and family know.
- Opening Night – 7:00pm – 11:00pm (18+ ONLY)

- Volunteer: – this community is the lifeblood of the festival and we can’t do it without you – here’s how you can help
- Volunteer – https://signup.com/group/311648000119 all volunteers get a free sausage (and the eternal love of your kids and the community)
- Bake – Cake Stall notes went home yesterday – deliver to cake stall on festival days
- Keys to the Cellar – donate your wine Mon 14th and Wed 16th cnr Short St & Oatley Park Ave
- Raffle – please return your raffle tickets sold or unsold – any remaining tickets will be sold over the weekend
- Donate to Trash and Treasure: Final week to donate (get a jump start on spring cleaning this weekend)
- Mon 14th & Thu 17th 3:25-3:45 pm at School Hall
- Thu 17th 5pm – 6:30pm at School Hall (we have added an after work dropoff)
- Other Things to Note:
- CASH – There will be an ATM on site but remember to bring CASH especially COINS – lots of stalls like Sugar Rush, Trash & Treasure, Outdoor Games are made for gold coins and some stalls and the Pony are cash only too
- Weather – rain, hail, shine we will be on!!
- Transport / Parking – please walk/ride if you can. This is the busiest weekend for the suburb and parking is at a premium – also please respect the residents on the streets surrounding the school and don’t park across driveways etc
- Stay Alert – there will be a lot of kids around the school
- LASTLY:
- Every dollar of profit goes back into OWPS to help support our kids therefore come along and buy some art, or a sausage or have a go on the rides.
- Most importantly come and have a tonne of fun and enjoy being a part of this amazing community 😃
