Fundraising for excellence
Thanks to the generous support of our community, volunteers and sponsors, the festival has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past 45 years.
Funds raised through the OWPS Community Festival are managed by the school’s P&C Association. In recent years, these funds have supported a wide range of projects and resources at Oatley West Public School, benefiting past, present and future generations of students, staff, families and community members.
Festival funds have contributed to:
- Air-conditioners in classrooms
- Covered ramp access to the school hall
- Additional power in outdoor areas to support flexible learning
- Additional Learning Support Teacher hours
- Classroom hampers for teachers
- Library equipment
- Interactive whiteboards in all classrooms
- Wi-Fi technology
- A new projector for the school hall
- New canteen appliances
- A covered outdoor learning area (COLA)
- Sporting equipment
- A new Kindergarten play area
- Upgrades to outdoor play spaces
In earlier years, the Community Festival—originally known as the OWPS Art and Craft Show—also helped fund major school infrastructure, including the computer room, school hall and other large-scale projects.
Have your say
Parents and carers are invited to attend P&C meetings and contribute to decisions about how funds are used. Meeting dates are published in the school newsletter and term notes.
